Softness in the Landscape
I first began walking the landscape of England in search of solace with my medium format film camera at the beginning of 2019. This choice of medium was intentional, I intended to slow down and it was a joy to return from trips and wait for my images to develop.
It was as much a meditation in waiting than it was walking. I wanted to explore areas within an hour or so driving distance - close enough to return in a day and far enough to feel I had explored a new landscape.
It was in this first year of excursions that I began to research ancient track routes, sacred sites and other special landmarks across Britain.
