A chapel on the headland

I love this little chapel. Sitting on the headland with views over to the Purbecks, you can see why someone decided to place a place of worship here. it was built. It’s such a special place of solace - especially when the sunlight pours in through the windows onto the stone walls, I envy those who get the chance to sit in service here.

St Aldhelm’s Chapel, Dorset

Access to this chapel is fairly easy and can be found as you walk along the South West Coast Path if you ever take that route. However, if you’re looking for a short walk, you can simply park up in Worth Mattravers, take a right past the Square and Compass, take a second right and follow the road up until you reach a farm. Then take a left and follow the stone track for a few miles. It’s a peaceful walk which takes you past a working quarry and along through some fields.
